The Complete Chronicles of Narnia (text only) by C. S. Lewis,P. Baynes I bought this copy because for one, I personally did not want a "movie tie-in" version, I wanted to have a hardcover edition that contained all of the books in one that I could keep for years and pass down to my children - in short, good quality, tasteful, with pictures.It was described as being "Used - Good", but it arrived in excellent condition (no noticeable tears on the book itself with only slight page wear). This version came with a book jacket which is identical to the hard cover itself, so I threw away the jacket which was well worn. Also, the book description says "text only", which is strange, because this copy has tons of the original illustrations in full-color (I'll try to post pictures soon).I feel like I hit the jackpot with this purchase and I highly encourage everyone to get this copy ASAP, because I've noticed the price of the "all-in-one" books skyrocketing lately (Barnes and Noble used to have a "leather"-bound copy for $20 three years ago which is $100 now). I sure hope these books don't go out of print, but if they do, you'll be glad you purchased this particular version, because it'll be passed down the family.

This is a beautiful paperback box set of the Narnia collection, that so many of us grew up with. The covers are nice, thick and protective of the pages inside, which are of good paper stock. I have no print fading or errors that I've noticed.The art on the outter box is beautiful on all sides, with a little read up at the top. For paperbacks, I believe this is the way to go! Highly recommended!

 This is a really lovely storybook collection based on all seven books in the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Those include: “The Magician's Nephew”, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, “The Horse and His Boy”, “Prince Caspian”, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, “The Silver Chair”, and “The Last Battle”. As the coloring book is slightly longer than average size and there are seven books covered, each is only touched on lightly. The coloring book can be used as an fun addition while you are reading the stories but it does not replace them.The designs are based on the original artwork by Pauline Baynes from the books written and published in the 1950's. In some cases, the artwork has been turned into what I call “wallpaper” style designs with repeated patterns.The designs include considerably more black in shading than usual for coloring books. That is because the original artwork was just that – artwork and not coloring designs. I've found that utilizing the black as shading is what works best for me with this type of design. I've run across it before when original artwork has been presented in this format.On a personal note, the designs bring back memories from my own life. I was a big fan of these books as a child and I would read them over and over again. Once I had children, I would read books to them before bedtime each night and this was a favorite, especially of my late son. He also would read the books over and over again on his own.I am now looking forward to reading them to my grandchildren and I will now also have a book of designs that I have colored to go along with them. I will admit that coloring these designs is a bittersweet experience as I spend as much time thinking of my son as I do in coloring.This is what I found as I colored in this book and tested the paper with my coloring medium. I was able to get good color with multiple layers of the same shade. I was also able to layer multiple colors and blend well using a pencil style blending stick. Both oil and wax based pencils worked well.

Love these books, but the font size is much too small on the Narnia Box Set (with movie pictures on box, linked below). It is advertised as for Grade 3 and up, but likely only Jr. High and older would be comfortable with this small of a Font Size. We are surprised that Harper Collins would publish such a small text Font Size, knowing that many children would be their audience.***It would be very helpful if Amazon would include the Font Size in the product description for books and other literature.*** (Surprised that they don't already include this.)Chronicles of Narnia Box SetWe are sending this box set back regrettably, and instead ordering this 2000-published box set, which is a couple inches taller, hoping it has an adequate font size for young readers (link below). On this I'd have to guess no. I think if you were to give a kid a copy of the boxed set and after they had read them to tatters asked them to organize a book like this, it would be a very different animal... and likely one that would talk.My fond wish is that someone will finally publish a high-quality coffee table book style exhaustive collection of Pauline Bayne's wonderful works at best quality/colour.

Charity, I would also like to congratulate you and your father, Mark Virkler, on the best book on dreams that I have personally ever read. And I read Herman Riffel's book many years ago, but it pales in comparison to this book. Now that is saying a lot considering Herman's contribution to this subject. My delight in reading your book is based on my reading of just the first five chapters.One thing that I appreciate most about it is the genuine insight. You definitely did not regurgitate something that you had learned third-hand. This book is fresh and personal insight given from the Father Himself. This book has the "voice of God" on it. I've been studying His voice for years and I recognize His authentic voice in the many different ways He presents Himself and this book is God speaking fresh wisdom. I'm so glad that you are sharing your part. As we have come to understand that we know that scripture says, we see in "part". I believe that God gives every person a part of a puzzle (a piece of understanding) and when a person is willing to share their part with others, the many authentic parts form "a more complete" revelation when brought together. That is what you has done. You have given us "her" part and it is refreshing.You also did a fantastic job of balancing interpretation with revelation. I've read so many books by authors that thought they could get away with revelation that they could not substantiate biblically. Likewise, I have read many books by "theologians" that thought interpretation without revelation was good. But the Spirit and the Word agree and you definitely brought together sound revelation with clearer biblical interpretation.I can also feel the sincerity of your relationship with God. I can likewise picture you as He has hidden you in His bosom and held you close through life. I can feel His love for you and I can see that you are is like a kid in His presence and just sucks up the joy of being recognized by Him. What a work you has put together. I could feel all of this from just reading this book.And kudos to your father too. Charity is a testament to the reality that God call families. And she is a testament that God is establishing your work and ensuring that all you have done will be carried forth for generations to come. He is establishing your throne is the area that He has given you to rule. Her book is a testament to your wise and obvious Holy Spirit-led parenting.Great book. Just the act of writing down your dream will help you pay attention to elements that appear unusual or out of place.When you ask the Lord why the strange elements are in your dream, His answer might not be immediate but when you least expect it . . . the answer will pop in your mind. Truly an excellent book written to interpret dreams. The author is biblically based, has very close relationship with God, spirit led and written in a simple way that explains, guides and teaches. I often have dreams that sometimes I understand and sometimes I am confused. There are many occasions that God uses dreams to speak to me and it got my attention after all these years for me to know the need to interpret my dreams biblically. However most websites or books are generalised and often not relevent in my context and not biblically based. By chance, God led me to this book on amazon that holds my attention and prompted me to buy it. I have not regretted getting this amazing book and today I am more confident in understanding what God is telling me in my context and knowing how to pray to God further in getting his insights on my dreams. The author truly walk the talk and had years of experiences, its a not money making book but it is meant to bless us who wants to know deeper of God's heart through one of his chosen ways - dreams.

This book opened up a realm of intimacy that I never knew was availability in my 30 plus years of being born again! I've had vivid 'God dreams" over the years, but they were few and far between. I took 14 days to read this book and recorded dreams 12 of the days and the other 2 days I had to learn the lesson that if you don't jot down a note or two, you will forget the dream! Before reading this book, I rarely remembered any dreams, So sad! What a wonderful way to open up the realm of hearing God speak!!!Each dream spoke a message to my heart!!! This is a good introduction to Italian cooking, while it is geared to children it is also excellent for adults who are just starting to cook. This version is the newer one & I prefer the older one (very similar but I just prefer the recipe selection) I used this series of cookbooks for years with my Girl Scout troop with great success. I was so excited since the Bisignano's are a fixture in Des Moines Italian food. This book has more information about Italy then recipes. The ones that are included are good, but for the price there are not many dishes to cook. I would not purchase the book again.

This book is classified as a juvenile cookbook. As such, it does a great job of introducing young people to cooking skills in general and Italian cooking in particular. The book also is part travelogue and part history lesson. There's a lot of information.The best feature of the book are the recipes. They are slightly different from the usual Italian cookbook offerings and they are very good. The spaghetti al sugo, which can be baked in the oven, is a real winner. It's tasty and so convenient for a busy day. I've also made the minestrone and the biscuit tortoni and they were both "keepers".

EVERYONE who collects Hermes scarves or has a general interest in fashion should own this book. Whilst not a complete catalogue of every design, it offers a wonderful glimpse into this icon of fashion that has endured for 80 some-odd years!

As everything that that belongs to Hermes it is just beautiful

So many art pieces to admire...I love Hermes actually, so I could be biased, but the book itself is wonderful as well and I spend hours admiring the details of scarfs (there are more than100 different designs, each on one full page + variant colours for some of the most famous).

Granted, in the "Foreword", no less than Mr. Pierre-Alexis Dumas says "It is not an exhaustive catalogue of the two thousand or so different designs; after all, why pin down butterflies when you can set them free to fly?". Nevertheless, I was a bit disappointed by the book, as lovely and beautiful as it may be.Even if it didn't feature ALL two thousand+ designs, it would have been nice to see a bit more than what's chronicled in the book, and it doesn't seem to provide a concrete reason/rationale as to why those particular designs were selected over others.None of the pictures or the visuals of the scarves come with notations/references. To figure out what's been shown, you have to go to the back of this not-so-tiny book and read through pages 291 ~ 300. A bit awkward and annoying to say the least.It's a shame since clearly a lot of effort went into designing this good looking publication. I would love to know if there are other books that better chronicle the designs, even if it means a metaphorical capture of those butterflies.

I have been reading this book for several weeks. I am new to Digital Photography. The author clearly captures everything you need for a crash course in taking pictures ASAP. It's loaded with great pictures. I am very pleased. I plan on taking this book on my vacation so I can use the suggested settings. I am now thinking I should have purchased the digital version for travel. Best book for my D7200 out of three I purchased. If you are a visual learner then this is the book for you. Plenty of eye candy. I don't find my mind wandering as I read since the content is clear, straight to the point and the settings and lens choices are clearly described.

This book is very informative and useful for a beginner. However the vast majority of the book covers photography tips that are useful regardless of the camera you're using. I already know the difference between aperture and shutter speed and was looking for a book more focused on Nikon D7200 specific tips without having to go through page after page of things like "how ISO works" to find it.

The first part of "Nikon D7200: From Snapshots to Great Shots" was a rehash / review of what I picked up already from various other books, websites and YouTube. But it did get better and I found some very useful information for matching camera settings to particular shots. It was also very helpful for covering some of the lesser used settings of the D7200. I'll definitely be using this book as a reference prior to setting up for some future pics.

This book is excellent. I have the Kindle version and a printed copy. It has just enough information (not too much). The information is stated very clearly. If you are a beginner, it’s perfect because it’s not overwhelming. If you are advanced it’s perfect because it’s a great reminder reference. I have read other books and this one is the one I take with me and go back and check. Highly recommend. This author also has a book on Nikon lenses and story telling through photography.

This book is not as technical as others sold by Amazon. I purchased it for that reason and it has helped me better understand how to more effectively use the D7200 Nikon. The use of photos and other illustrations drives the main points.

Great book for first timers using their new dslr. However when I upgraded my camera from a d5100 (purchased this book for that model) to a 7200.. I noticed I didn't reference it the same. Mainly because it was the same technique and info. So if you're upgrading from the same brand it's almost pointless to purchase again. Yes, there are new features, but I don't feel it's worth purchasing again.But as I said if you are a first timer in buying this book - GO FOR IT!

Fantastic book. Just what I needed. Upgraded my camera from D5000 to the D7200, so I had a good base knowledge. This book did an excellent job of explaining the new functions of the 72000. It was perfect for that. On the other hand, I would not recommend it if you are a beginner.

This is my first Nikon so I was a bit overwhelmed with all the controls. The book not only explained how the controls worked, it explained how best to use them to get better pictures.
