At first sight, this book was BEAUTIFUL. The pages are thick, glossy, and made of high quality. The pictures aren't bad. But that's as far as it goes. I bought these books because I figured they'd be a great way to teach the children some history in a fun manner, but it was PAINFUL to read to my children! I should've known this was a way for Rush to just get his name/picture out in front of more faces. But I wish he'd spent as much time/$ on an editor as he did making sure his book looked good.This book had so much potential. But the writing was so bad, you couldn't pay ME to read another one. Sorry, Rush. You need to take some writing lessons (or pay a better ghost writer) before you turn out any more books.
Got this for my grand son, who is 8, for Christmas, I made it a "family time" reading book so we had my grandson, my 6 year old grand daughter and my 3 year old grand daughter. These kids just LOVED this book, so much so that I got on line and ordered the other 4. We now have our Rush Revere reading time and we all look forward to it. The kids just love Liberty and they think it is so funny that they have an Aunt named Freedom and an aunt named Elizabeth, which are caricatures in the book. So it makes it even more special. They get so excited when I am reading to them, then I ask questions about what we have read so the kids get very good lessons from the books without having to "study". Its amazing how much they have picked up.
My granddaughter enjoys these books and giggles at Liberty, the horse. She doesn't like to write but told me she wrote a story in school about Tommy, Freedom, and William Bradford. She described how she filled one page and began the second and filled that too. She said she had never written that much before. I'm very happy to have the Rush Revere books to help my grandchildren learn to appreciate and love our country.
We loved it. Our grandkids loved it. The books are more in-depth than I had imagined. These are really well written, well illustrated, and well made--very high quality "young person--not just kid" books. The grandkids love them and find them very interesting--the kids like reading them to our grandkids, too. I wish we had these back when we were homeschooling our children. The seller shipped very fast, and well protected. I am 100% satisfied--110%++. My final thought for you: BUT IT NOW! What are you waiting for?
This is the second Revere I purchased for my 10-year old. He read the Brave Pilgrims first and asked for more. He loves them. He primarily reads fiction. I have been trying to get him interested in history. This is a great first step. I will definitely order more.
My 3rd grade grandson loves this series. He reminds me to purchase the next one as we near the end of the current book. He’s interested in sports and was into reading about superhero’s and Diary of Wimpy Kid series, so I was pleasantly surprised that he loves this series. Not only teaching good values but history as well. Many times we laugh over the antics of these time traveling kids. A terrific series!!!! Don’t think b/c it includes history that it won’t hold kids attention. I love that I’m even learning some history that I’ve forgotten.
Another in the Rush Revere series and is totally historically accurate while making learning history fun for children. They all love Liberty the horse.
This is another great book for young people on American history by Rush Limbaugh. It is a page turner fiction book based on our actual historyand brings the young person who reads it back to that time in our history as if he or she were there themselves. I highly recommend this book as a gift for a young person in your life.
