Nice little book but a little skimpy for $14.00. I bought 3, one for each of my kids. Now I wish I only had bought 1.

More of a pamphlet then a book.

price way too high for a PAMPHLET and recipes not that great

This book is a damn joke. $14.00 for a 48 page pamphlet of stupid recipes and pages filled with ridiculous drawings, etc. to take up space. This book is NOT worth the price! I could spend 15 minutes on google and find 100 times the avocado recipes that make this pamphlet a laughing stock. DO NOT BUY!!!

Fantastic ideas. Couple classics and lots of things I've never heard of. Avocado Pasta!? This is their best edition yet. I love every recipe.

This book was a punch in the gut as a fifth grader nearly thirty years ago. As an adult it's a beating with a padlock in a sock. Just non-stop blow after blow because now after college English classes you know about things like foreshadowing and symbolism and dramatic irony and YOU SEE IT COMING FROM MILES AWAY AND CAN DO NOTHING TO STOP IT.I've read Martin. I'm used to not getting attached to vibrant, likable characters. But this still hits harder than the Red Wedding. Especially the aftermath. Because you're an adult now and your adult fears are different than your fears as a kid. This only heightens the contrast between Jesse's juvenile fear of falling into the creek and the reader's more mature fear of losing a loved one and makes the characters' pain stand out in that much more stark a contrast.And that's not even getting into the theme of "If I had only..." that Jesse struggles with when he wakes in the night. If I had only asked her. If I had only thought of someone else. If I had only seen what was right in front of me instead of yearning for that which I cannot have. We've all had those moments, and we've all thought of what we could have done differently. The stakes are not always as high, but we are terrifyingly aware that we don't know when they might be.The prose is exceedingly well-written. It's clear, almost matter-of-fact. Echoes of Narnia can be felt in Terebithia, especially in the Pine Grove. But the narrator never talks down to the reader. We see the world, and Leslie, through Jesse's eyes, but the story is far from childish. It doesn't pull its punches, but it takes care to show us beauty, too.It should still come with a warning label and a box of kleenex, though. Not gonna lie; at almost 40 this one broke me, and I ain't even ashamed.

This classic, bittersweet tale of friendship and loss should be compulsory reading in school, which is where I first read it myself. It shows that boys can be soft and girls can be brave while still maintaining confidence in their own personal identity as the boy or girl they were born to be.

As I was reading it, I was reminded of the movie My Girl starring Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin.I got even more of that vibe toward the end of the novel, and I think had I read this when I was in the targeted age group, I would have been shattered.Even now, I enjoyed the book and can definitely understand how it won the Newbery Medal. Outstanding example of young friendship, and a gateway for parents to talk to their kids about loss and grief.4 out of 5 stars

This is an extremely nice book. I was impressed with the story when I watched it on TV. I recorded it on my DVR and watched it again several months later. I bought the book knowing that the book would provide more depth to the story. I know that the story is written for for children but, as a mature elderly adult. I enjoyed it very much. The main character is a fifth grade eleven year old boy who is raised in a family with four sisters. He meets a new girl in his class who opens his mind to a world of imagination and when she dies he passes this world of imagination to his next younger sister who adores him. There is tragedy in the story but overall it is a heartfelt story.

Are there painkillers designed for a broken heart, because I definitely needed it after reading this book. In fact, I actually had to lie down for a while, to process what had happened.Bridge to Terabithia is all about friendship, understanding and coming of age. Jess starts out as a boy with the simple hope of wanting to be the fastest runner in his school, but through his friendship with Leslie, he begins to expand his world, taken in by the wild fantasies of Leslie's imagination.The only son in a family of five children, Jess is quite alone; old enough to understand that he has chores to be done, but young enough to dream big. When he makes a companion out of Leslie, it’s like a tribute to one’s own inner child. Didn’t we all have that friend that we would meet on the corner and play with at the park?The uncanny duo fit together like peas in a pod. It gives us hope that even a misunderstood boy in rural America can find the thing that they’ve been missing; the thing that will pull them out of the norm and into something more.This book has sense of adventure and a bit of sweet nostalgia (for the grown-ups). As a children’s book, it achieves a lot in terms of loss of innocence and coming of age, which I feel is quite appropriate (even required) for children growing up.It’s easy to forget some characters when you read many books, but then you get a book like Bridge to Terabithia; you have the wind knocked out of you, and you’ll likely never forget Jess and Leslie.

At first sight, this book was BEAUTIFUL. The pages are thick, glossy, and made of high quality. The pictures aren't bad. But that's as far as it goes. I bought these books because I figured they'd be a great way to teach the children some history in a fun manner, but it was PAINFUL to read to my children! I should've known this was a way for Rush to just get his name/picture out in front of more faces. But I wish he'd spent as much time/$ on an editor as he did making sure his book looked good.This book had so much potential. But the writing was so bad, you couldn't pay ME to read another one. Sorry, Rush. You need to take some writing lessons (or pay a better ghost writer) before you turn out any more books.

Got this for my grand son, who is 8, for Christmas, I made it a "family time" reading book so we had my grandson, my 6 year old grand daughter and my 3 year old grand daughter. These kids just LOVED this book, so much so that I got on line and ordered the other 4. We now have our Rush Revere reading time and we all look forward to it. The kids just love Liberty and they think it is so funny that they have an Aunt named Freedom and an aunt named Elizabeth, which are caricatures in the book. So it makes it even more special. They get so excited when I am reading to them, then I ask questions about what we have read so the kids get very good lessons from the books without having to "study". Its amazing how much they have picked up.

My granddaughter enjoys these books and giggles at Liberty, the horse. She doesn't like to write but told me she wrote a story in school about Tommy, Freedom, and William Bradford. She described how she filled one page and began the second and filled that too. She said she had never written that much before. I'm very happy to have the Rush Revere books to help my grandchildren learn to appreciate and love our country.

We loved it. Our grandkids loved it. The books are more in-depth than I had imagined. These are really well written, well illustrated, and well made--very high quality "young person--not just kid" books. The grandkids love them and find them very interesting--the kids like reading them to our grandkids, too. I wish we had these back when we were homeschooling our children. The seller shipped very fast, and well protected. I am 100% satisfied--110%++. My final thought for you: BUT IT NOW! What are you waiting for?

This is the second Revere I purchased for my 10-year old. He read the Brave Pilgrims first and asked for more. He loves them. He primarily reads fiction. I have been trying to get him interested in history. This is a great first step. I will definitely order more.

My 3rd grade grandson loves this series. He reminds me to purchase the next one as we near the end of the current book. He’s interested in sports and was into reading about superhero’s and Diary of Wimpy Kid series, so I was pleasantly surprised that he loves this series. Not only teaching good values but history as well. Many times we laugh over the antics of these time traveling kids. A terrific series!!!! Don’t think b/c it includes history that it won’t hold kids attention. I love that I’m even learning some history that I’ve forgotten.

Another in the Rush Revere series and is totally historically accurate while making learning history fun for children. They all love Liberty the horse.

This is another great book for young people on American history by Rush Limbaugh. It is a page turner fiction book based on our actual historyand brings the young person who reads it back to that time in our history as if he or she were there themselves. I highly recommend this book as a gift for a young person in your life.

This book is so deplorably bound that it was already falling apart before I even took it out of the Amazon box. The hacks are for playing Minecraft on a PC, and the author issues a caveat that hacks may work "differently" on a game console. I was intending to give this to my grandsons who are into Minecraft, but all the loose pages make it very impractical for even light use.

Content is good, but the construction of the book is deplorable. Pages fell out immediately upon opening. Sky Pony Press should be ashamed. I would give more stars based on the content, but frankly a book is useless if it falls apart. I hope the author can either switch printers or Sky Pony Press can fix their binding issues.

Pages falling out all over the place in a brand new book! I had to return it bc my son could not even read it without a page falling out. Beyond unacceptable.

Aparrently this is a must have for the Minecrafters according to my son! He loves the book!

My grand sons ages 9 and 11 loved this book. They are always looking for hacks for their favorite games. I highly recommend this book for any kids who are really into Minecraft.it is easy to read and has lots of moves.

My stepson was so excited to get this for his birthday! He doesn't read much and he read this every day for a whole week!

I have bought this book hardcover twice now for my library and the spines keep breaking apart after only a few checkouts. Pages start falling out right away. While your kids might like the content, most Minecrafters are pretty hard on their books, reading them over and over again, and paging through them repeatedly, and I just don't feel the quality is there.Maybe the people with paperback find them lasting longer...

The author does a good job of bringing the personal conflicts together, as well as the lack of history at times.The author was not a fan of the Papacy or Islam, so be warned of that if it will offend.7,085 locations. Sir Charles Oman puts together a very thorough and page-turning history that spans the former Roman Empire from Spain to the Middle East. I particularly liked Sir Charles's focus on the military campaigns that compose the period covered by the book. The coverage of the dozens of rulers and persons of importance during the period covered gets a bit confusing, but not thru any fault of the author - Sir Charles reports dutifully and very precisely on a time of lots of intrigue, war, and tumult. Be aware, though: The Dark Ages 476 - 918 AD doesn't cover economic and cultural history in any detail at all, so if that is what you are looking for, this book may not be the one for you. A good coverage of the religious, cultural, and economic conditions of the European Dark Ages can be found in Norman Cantor's "Civilization of the Middle Ages".

A fine work that was easy to read. There are a lot of historical characters to keep track of but I definitely enjoyed it.I have learned a lot. One surprise was the extent to which Arianism was a significant force again mainstream Catholic orthodoxy in the earlier dark ages, I had not thought it so widely accepted. I was also surprised by how widespread Christianity had already become by the 5th century.It is an older book but definitely a gem. It helps place historical events and characters more firmly in the stream of time (Mohammed, Chlodovech, Vandals and Goths). Some of these fellows and ladies are more interesting than the fictitious works on TV nowadays.

Tolkien most surely read these volumes. Similarities with Middle-Earth are striking. Modern history superimposes these Dark Age domains on the modern geography. I think that’s a mistake.Remove modern geography to enter the Dark Age circa 680 AD. The world is divided with geography hard fought by the Empire, Australasia, Neustria, Avar Khaganate, Lombardi, Freesia, Saracens, Moors. There are no European nations, no languages, no ideologies or religions recognizable today. Some argue that there was no such thing as the “Dark Age” but that’s simply not true. The nations, the people, ideologies, religions, of 680 AD are places lost in history. What emerges here is every bit as strange as Tolkien’s Men and Elves, Dwarfs and Orcs. The persons and place names are a fascinating Tolkien-esque linguistic origin.It’s a very long, slow, deep diving read. Add the time to internet search and an image of this Dark Age begins to appear in your mind, the evolution so foreign and distant that we might not believe it. There have been no more recent attempts to contain the 450 years of the Dark Age at this detail. There are surely errors here but where? I didn’t find any in my reference side trips. Total war, utter genocides, great wars and civil wars destroy almost everything that might provide more clues. Who among us are the proud descendant of Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Avars or Vandals? In fact, we in the West are all descendants from these Dark Age roots.I don’t know of another study that so squarely and completely defines the end of the Caesars, the emergence of ‘barbarians’ and the Eastern Empire and fast cycling western geography. The author provides a clear understanding of the tribal domains and objectives of Vandals, Ostrogoths, Goths, Franks, and Visigoths attempting to make their way, to become our long lost ancestors.It’s a colossal narrative. Assuredly modern research has discovered finds but none adequate to make the content of this 19th century whole anything but convincing. Modern investigations reinforce the utter depravity of the age. Does it get worse from there? This 19th-century history text forwards thoughts more aggressively and clearly than 21st century politically biased history writers.5-stars. Well worth the read. Firmly believable into 21st-century research.My lineage like everyone else is ancient. In this Dark Age they are documented to 780-800 and no further back. They were among the allied and recent 'Northmen' aka Normans within the bounds of the superpower of Australasia. I expect they spoke Oil. They emerge from history as 'mayor's' of the 'village' of Maule just outside Paris. In 300-some years they joined as allies of William beyond the Dark Age. They traveled to Britain in 1066, seized lands in Scotland where the family tree splits between brother supporters of Wallace and Longshanks. They arrive in the US at Salem in 1640.Like most every place Dark Age, there is no trace to be found of 300 years of Maule presence. There exists but a small trace in Panmure Scotland after Edward I. It feels personal.

This was a fun read, even if the material is dated. You get a good amount of editorializing from the author (who definitely has attitudes dating from over 100 years ago). For example, how he treats Christendom and Islam and how he describes the various leaders (and how moral they were) over the vast time he covers.The history is interesting, and Oman does a good job covering a vast amount of material quickly and without making it dull. I was quite pleased he considers both Western Europe and the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine Empire's history is fascinating and very important to the Middle Ages, and it is nice to see it covered pretty well.Overall, an interesting read partially because it reveals how a popular historian in the early 1900s thought, and a lot of Middle Age history that I had not been exposed much to before (esp. the Franks).

Even that this book is old it is well written and vivid. The history is laid out more by region and tribe then by time frame so it is more easy to create a picture of Europe's birth of new nations out of that period turmoil and destruction.

Very detailed facts, facts, facts about which “tribe” with which king attacked which territory; who won; and then the next and next. Some, but not much, recognition of economic, climate, or population pressures - but - perhaps little is known about such things. The written record is often spotty and the winners wrote it - so - hard to tell who was good guys. Looks to me like there weren’t really any good guys. Author is clearly biased toward building nation-states; Europe as it is now; and Christianity. This period in history is a thousand little wars for no particularly good reason other than the self-aggrandizement of whoever happens to be king of his little territory at the time. Lots and lots of king’s sons killing each other to become king. Amazing that so many surfs and knights went to war so often for so little.

You need to be a real history buff to get through this book. Oman does a good job making the genealogy of the Dark Ages kings interesting, but that is a hard job.

This book proved to be a good read! I had to purchase it for a marketing class and thought it might end up being a boring read; however, it kept me engaged throughout the whole semester. It has all of the necessary information about the marketing process and all of the important concepts that individuals need to know.If you are interested in learning more about marketing or your wondering whether it will enhance your business, I recommend purchasing this book, as it will provide you with the necessary information.

This book is an outline of the basics of marketing processes. Explaining details about the work that lead people to prepare and market well, there is a lot of additional information in other places, but this has been the core of marketing for me. Now I need an updated version with more online use information added.

I dreaded reading this book every week. I felt that the author could have easily reduced the number of pages in each chapter by about a 1/2, while still adequately covering everything. This resulted in a great deal of repetition. Despite the length, the author did a poor job of explaining some concepts (not enough explanation), and many of the graphs, charts, and diagrams were poorly explained. For some odd reason, the author includes QR codes on some of the pages so that you can view some outdated videos. Problem is, many of the links were no longer available.The Connect that comes with this book is only useful if you either need it for class, or like to study the vocabulary and concepts through flashcards (called Learnsmart). Otherwise, don't buy the book with Connect.

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed the brief stories that they had on the many different companies that the discussed. This book was a good easy read and kept me pretty engaged. Being that this was a marketing book, you can totally expect to have all sorts of eye candy all over the place. My brain was on a high throughout the whole book. I really enjoyed this book, and it helped me to get through my class with an A!

I had to have this book for a marketing class and actually want to keep it after the class is over! Not always do you find a good college level book that explains topics as simply as this. If you are wanting really in-depth marketing tips this might not be the best book for you, but for someone that is starting in marketing and likes explanations or examples this is wonderfully written.

I ordered this version of the book because it stated it came with the McGraw Hill Connect and it does not. There were much cheaper versions, this is a waste of money and I still have to purchase the online connect access code.

What I like best about this book is its explanation of successess and failures in real life examples of business marketing. For instance, I had no idea that Reeses Pieces were new at the time the ET film came out and ET was used to promote the product.Still it reads like a textbook so it's very dry. LOTS of vocabulary. Bland.For a textbook it's not bad, but I'm sure there are FAR more interesting books on marketing history out there.

great book for the class, great examples and easy to read and stay interested. if i could make money in marketing when i graduated i would major in marketing because of this book and how it makes you excited about business and the American dream.
