I love this book because it gets me excited about getting on my motorcycle and going for an adventure, but there's very little information in it that I'd feel comfortable relying on as a single source.The world is a fast-changing place. Motorcycle models, political boundaries, border relations, the bureaucracy of international travel and international routes are different today than they are yesterday. This book provides a great foundation on HOW to think about these things, but no book can be used as an authority on these subjects anymore; especially when you can tap in to fantastic internet sources reporting on daily changes in the territories (such as crossing South America's Darien Gap, where options are constantly changing thanks to new providers coming in, others leaving and laws governing the crossings changing regularly).There's very little information in this book that can't be found more reliably in online forums like Advrider or Horizons Unlimited.That said, there's something romantic about holding the pages between your fingers and getting excited about a big trip, and this book does that.

This book makes me want to hop on a motorcycle and ride everywhere! This book gives the aspiring ADV rider the recommendations necessary to get going. It's suggestions are extensive and cover many things that would have otherwise been overlooked (travel visas, international insurance, carnets, etc).I've found it very easy to read for both short and long stints. It's spectacularly well-edited, you rarely find yourself having to turn the page to read the last two sentences of a section before putting the book down. The writing is concise and gives examples and alternatives that might be helpful to riders of all skill levels.If you're even a bit interested in overland travel via motorcycle you should absolutely get this book. You won't be disappointed.

Even if you have a well worn copy of the last edition, it's worth upgrading to the latest (Nov, 2012 - 6th ed) of the AMH. Tons of new material and the same solid format that made this book great in the first place. Buy the book, read the book, ride out to an Overland Expo or a Horizons Unlimited meetup, do a few exploratory journeys (mostly to see how *little* you need to be comfortable on the road then go for it...

I don't have enough superlatives to describe this book. It's meticulously detailed, incredibly informative, and offers been-there-done-that guidance on practically every aspect of adventure touring. Of note: Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman of "Long Way Round" fame note that this was the first book they purchased in preparing for their journey. I've committed large sections of it to memory--if you're in the serious planning phase of a long motorcycle adventure, I'd recommend you do the same.

I am so grateful that I was lead to purchasing this book. It truly is a gem and I recommend this book to ALL African American women. It addressed so many issues us women face through out our lives and it opened my eyes to a lot of topics I believe we all bury sometimes. Self care and self love are things we often neglect ourselves of and this book definitely has put me on the right track to incorporate self care/love into my life more. The book was inspiring, it plays as a guide, and hard to put down. I want to buy this book for all the females in my life. Just imagine how many women's lives would change if they included some self love in their lives once a day. A MUST read because we are all deserving.

Another book written from the heart of Laurie Polich Short. It has been my Lenten devotional this year. Her verse 40, the last chapter, really spoke truth into my heart. Convicting me and encouraging me to live into some difficult gospel truths. The book is full of inspiration, encouragement, but also conviction. Hope for a stressed out world exhausted by refugee crisis, climate change, and politics, #40verses reminds us to breathe, sit with God, do the internal work that needs doing in order to be the salt and light we are called to be.

If you are one, like me, who does best with a devotional that is in sweet short chunks, this is for YOU. What i loved about this book is that it opened my eyes to seeing some scriptures verses I "hadn't seen before" that spoke to me and my heart in new ways. You know how the word of God is living and active. Well, this book is sort of like a devotional of 40 verses that comes alive as you read them again!

I love Laurie’s authenticity and insights she gives to the Scriptures! I have read these verses many times before and feel like I am seeing things in fresh new ways! I highly recommend it to anyone whether in a season of drought or plenty. It is a must read! Although I have not been doing this with a group, I think it would be a great group study.

This map is hard to read and not very detailed. The street I live on does not even appear as a line on the map. But the single worst design flaw is that the map is split between two sides, and when you flip it over in the natural direction, the opposite side is upsidedown. You'd expect the two sides of the map to be joined at the edge where one transitions to the other, but the back side is inexplicably printed in the opposite orientation. When dealing with locations near the boundary, this makes the map essentially unusable.

Can't recommend since when you flip it over, the map on the other side is upside down and you must rotate the map 180 degrees. Rely on your phone instead and you won't look like a tourist to the numerous and aggressive street people of San Francisco!

This is a very handy map, easy to carry, waterproof, but a little hard to read some of the street names. I guess you can't expect to have the compact size without some trade-off. I do recommend it.

Love that this map highlights top places in SF & is lamenated! Bought one for me & one for a gift for relatives visiting the Bay Area. Folds up nice without taking up a lot of room

1. It was easy to read - Streets were plainly marked and legible. 2. It was a good size, convenient to take with us, and use in the car. Helped us to find addresses we needed to know - worked well with our GPS. 3. It's in our permanent travel file. I would purchase another map when the occasion comes up. The 'plastic' cover kept it clean and readable.

It’s a great resource that has everything you need to navigate around San Francisco. We used it daily, while visiting. The only downside is it doesn’t include elevation.

Kept in my backpack during my entire visit - always knew where I was and where I was going!

The book arrived in perfect condition.

Reason for Reading: This is a great hi/lo series for reluctant male readers.You couldn't find a person less interested in sports than me, but I really look forward to reading the books in this series. Once again, "Riptide Pride" matches the quality of the others in the series. Written at a low reading level (1.5) or GRL (J) it will appeal to boys up into their mid-teens. The characters in this book are all 14 yo. The story revolves around a boy known to be a great surfer who is bullied by the school braggart into competing with him to prove who is the best surfer. Things take a turn for the worse when the braggart moves out to the rock infested no surfing zone. An exciting story with realistic teens combined with comic book quality art are sure to keep reluctant sports minded teens reading.

The grammatical/spelling errors in this book are embarrassing. I can’t even bring myself to try the recipes!!! Sorry, Adam, you need to have a proofreader check your work.

So glad I found this book. I have made low carb my daily habit for many years, and am looking forward to trying these recipes. As a very senior citizen it is getting to be more and more of a struggle preparing nutritious meals. I do not want long recipes as shopping is also getting harder. I have a 6 quart Crock Pot, and it will be wonderful to make extra for several meals. Thank you Adam Jain for making life a little easier (and tastier).

This cookbook has filled with not just great and new recipes but also gives you an important overview of low carb diet. The 23 tips to attaining a successful low carb diet plan in this book will surely help you achieved healthy weight. The 5 ingredients recipes are so appealing, you can have full of flavors and healthy meals with just a minimal ingredients. Great! You can try to cook them all to your own slow cooker.

Who does not want to eliminate extra pounds in their body? Well if you want it terribly this book is definitely for you. This will help you to lose weight rapidly and be able to achieve the perfect body you always wanted to have. You can also cook delicious and healthy food with juts 5 ingredients or less can you imagine that?!

A few of these reviews are on target. The book is self-published, which may not relate to its quality, but I don't think it's an encouraging sign. I am trying the chili recipe, but have questions. The recipe calls for 2 cans of diced tomatoes, but doesn't specify the size of the cans. It also calls for 2 white onions, which seems like too much onion for one pound of ground beef. Take a close look at the recipes before you buy the food and start cooking. I'm hoping the other recipes will be better, but can't be sure yet.

Beautiful book! This was a gift for my soon to be daughter in law. I've already made a couple handful of recipes from this cookbook and all have been really delicious and satisfying! She loved it!

I'm glad I found this book. This book will help you prepare good meals with a little effort. Many recipes have been included here to cook through the pot right away. All guides and recommendations are detailed, clear, effective and useful. The recipes are very solid and easy to follow. I like this cookbook! The formulas are simple, but fun.

Not sure what I expected and possibly not the books fault, but my expectations. Wasn't excited about the receipes.
