By age eleven, Lucy had lived at a staggering 30 or more different addresses, being passed from stranger to stranger every few months. Born to a homeless single mother, herself the victim of abuse and neglect, Lucy was merely the next generation in her family's chaotic history.Without any sense of stability, it's amazing Lucy held up as well as she did - to most people who met her, the little girl seemed quiet and eager to please, due to her lifetime of trying to fit into the households of strangers. Yet Lucy was internalizing her pain and isolation. Beneath the surface was a girl who was brimming with anger at a world who didn't want her, through absolutely no fault of her own. Never having had the support, Lucy struggled to keep up with her schoolwork and she also dealt with her anxiety through food. All in all, at the tender age of eleven, it seemed that everyone had already given up on Lucy. Then Lucy came to live in yet another foster home. Thanks to Cathy Glass, an experienced carer, Lucy slowly began to deal with her past and to build a solid sense of self for both the present and future. And, as Glass soon discovered, at the root of it all was Lucy's simple wish -- to have someone to love her. Once she had that, Lucy could truly conquer anything.Having read many of Glass' other books about fostering, I can say with confidence this one holds up to her usual excellent standard. However, as Lucy's story has been intertwined with those of other children, as Glass eventually adopts her, this book was especially anticipated and welcome.Best wishes to both mother and daughter, having found one another when life could so easily have sent them down another path! It seems it was truly meant to be.

I stumbled across a Cathy Glass book that was listed with several other books by various authors. That was the beginning for me of wanting to read more -- so far I've read three and have purchased three more to come next .I am terribly impressed with the way Cathy is able to gain trust of these poor abused children and then slowly (at the child's own speed) make them feel safe, understood, and especially cared for. She works so patiently and helps them slowly open like a beautiful flower while giving them self confidence and helping them to realize that none of it was their fault that they were so badly treated. What an awesome gift to give to an abused child. To those readers that hesitate about reading this type of book because they can't deal with hearing of the things done to these children (I am one of those people), rest assured that it is not written that way. Stories are written around the event of being visited by Social Services and what transpires until they are able to move on from there to find their "forever family". I highly recommend her books but don't be surprised if you get "hooked" on them.

I just finished "Will you love me" last night and WOW! When you told her she got to stay I had tears dripping off my chin. ALL she ever wanted was a family and home she could call her own. I was so worried about the lack of food she was eating and was worried about organ shut down because of it, that did scare me a bit in the book. Lucy you are the luckiest lady in the whole world. You have the best Mom that one could ever ask for. I truly am sorry the system failed you so badly and took so long to get you to your for-ever Mom/Mum! Cathy I praise you from the bottom of my heart, coming from being adopted at 12 yrs old when my birth Mom/Mum was killed in a car crash. My Mom's best friend at the time adopted me but she was only 12 yrs older then me at 24 yrs old. I lost my dear Mom/Mum in 2008 and it still breaks my heart that I lost my 2nd Mom/Mum to early. I first found your book "damaged" this year when I got a kindle, and I have gone and read I think all the rest of your books. I have them on my kindle but I might have to order the whole collection for my book collection, so that I can share them with some of my friends who read. They of course have not heard of your books as I have never seen them in any stores, and I am always scanning ALL the books, so I would not have missed these! I do hope this is not the last story you have, (not meaning I want more kids to be hurt and go into care!) but I know that there are so many kids out there going through this. The wonderful story of how Lucy became your legal daughter was by far the most touching of all. I had just finished the book about Alice when I stated Lucy's book, so at the end of Lucy's book when you get Alice I figure I was already ahead! THANK YOU so MUCH, not just for your wonderful books, but most important to for being a foster Mom and a carer who really DOES care! Bless you and all the children who come through your home. I hope to see more updates of each of the kids on your website, and I look often to see if there are any updates, hoping in anticipation! I will have to say your editors have to be in tears the whole time they work on your books, bless them for helping you put out some awesome books! Sad but true!

Lucy's life started out very sad, the time she spent with her mother, all of the moving she had to do, social workers coming in and out of her life but not really helping. Finally, at the age of eleven, Lucy met Cathy Glass, and life started to get better. Lucy finally had stability in her life, and she finally had someone who truly cared for her. Cathy warns that Lucy's story is heartbreaking, and it is, but it is also inspiring. Cathy has touched so many lives, and helped so many children, but this story gives me hope that one day there won't be so many kids left thinking that life is hopeless. The world could use more people like Cathy Glass. I am touched each time I read one of her books. Captivating from beginning to end, "Will You Love Me?" is one of the best books I have ever read. I am very happy that Lucy found Cathy and her children. I am looking forward to reading more from Cathy Glass as soon as I can.
